We strive to assist clients to achieve their ambitions in terms of energy efficiency and decarbonisation. Our focus is on thermal modelling – understanding how each part of the building’s energy system fits together- so that we can optimise the resources required for a given budget. We offer several services to building owners and managers. We assess the building in regards to its energy performance; we analyse how retrofitting a variety of components will improve the energy performance; we can recommend a particular course of action based upon client objectives; we provide the means to monitor energy usage and the associated parameters; we can advise on the project management of the installation of the required remedial works; and we can provide software tools customised to a particular building.
Energy Assessment
Conduct an energy assessment of your property in accordance with the new Home Energy Model certification scheme approved by the Government. The site visit includes the use of specialist technology (e.g. LiDAR) to perform accurate measurements to produce the baseline energy rating. We can also take third party EPC assessments and transpose them into our digital twin. This may be done free of charge on larger projects or case studies.
Retrofit Assessment
Having obtained the survey data on a site visit, or been supplied with it, we can produce a digital twin of your property through which thermal modelling allows us to examine different scenarios for retrofitting energy systems. The resultant Digital Building Energy Performance Model (DBEPM) allows the assessment and refinement of a variety of different retrofit options. This service is priced as a standalone delivery or under a monitored savings-based arrangement.
Evaluation Assistance
Where a client has already determined a design, perhaps with costings, we can advise on the best course of action using industry-leading detailed analytical techniques such as Thermal Modelling and Artificial Intelligence. We can evaluate the design options offered and establish best value from whatever perspective the client requires. The pricing for this service depends upon the complexity of the project.
Energy Monitoring
Clients who use our Energy Performance Model may control the performance of their energy system through the purchase of independently supplied monitoring equipment installed onsite. We offer a maintenance contract based on remote monitoring with annual system adjustments and as-necessary servicing visits. Properties with an unvented (pressurised) domestic hot water cylinder require an annual inspection anyway.
Retrofit Co-ordination
We are able to assist and advise on the design and management of the retrofit plan as defined by the Energy Performance Model. We may work with your installation company to ensure that the benefits of the plan can be achieved. In some circumstances, we may recommend people who can deliver what is required.
